Actual Data
Vehicle positions on attended lines are constantly monitored. Their position data is used to calculate up-to-date display texts.

DyFIS® is able to get the positions data through a variety of sources. Locations of rail vehicles and buses can be taken from the Operation Control Systems of various manufacturers (e.g. Siemens (VICOS), Bombardier (MCDS), T-Systems (ABF)) or detected via dedicated sensors.

For this, it is possible to install decided sensors or create a reaction-less connection to existing sensors (route beacon, coupling coil) or data concentrators of the different manufacturers.

It is also possible to use the radio signals for traffic light control to track vehicles. If the sensors allow the determination of spatial data (GPS coordinates), those can also be used to track the vehicle.
